I'm an 'Imagineer'...yip, a professional dreamer. Quite often, while asleep at night or during my afternoon snooze, I find myself inside a strange interior surrounded with extraordinary objects and artwork. Sometimes I can manage to transfer these visions, by pencil, which is made of graphite and wood,onto paper which is, funny enough,also made from wood. I once saw a 'woman of the forrest'on a Ray Mears programme and she had selected some bark off a certain tree and was peeling it apart as it was composed in layers like natural slate, carbon-fibre or sandwiches. Each layer was extremely thin and as she stripped them apart I exclaimed 'PAPER!,YOUVE MADE PAPER!' She continued and again I shouted 'JEEZUS ITS PAPER!' Thousands of years of primal evolution passed on through hundreds of generations beckons apparent in her hands as she then made a few folds in the style known to the Western world as Origami, suddenly it was stuck into her gob and she continued with some precision chewing when, Hey-Presto, she pulls it out , unfolds and there it is....maad nutter geometric spyrographic patterns fully filigreed and not a laser-cutter in sight. Its hard to believe modern man only recently invented Spyrograph in the late 1960's.
