Bulkhead was a public art organisation responsible for the development, management and promotion of the Bulkhead Prize, 24HR Window, Add Hawk Gallery and the Bulkhead Junior Prize. The organisation grew out of the self-initiated residency on the 34 and the on the buses project to push the boundaries of public art and to benefit the public through encountering creative ideas in unusual places. Bulkhead allows Atkinson-Davidson to develop her interest as a curator, working with 32 artists since May 1999, to present 18 artwork/projects in the public domain with support from a total of 48 sponsors and public bodies. Bulkhead maintains a strong belief in presenting art in unexpected places
