John Cavanagh
Musicial Interludes
Profile
John Cavanagh has created music under the name Phosphene since
2000. Before that he was one half of the duo Electroscope, releasing
104 titles in four years to an unsuspecting world. For the last
decade and a half he has bludgeoned radio listeners with music he
believes in, working for BBC Radio
Scotland, all the BBC networks from 1-5 and World Service/Radio
International. Along the way, he has also treated Radio Clyde listeners
to
some Captain Beefheart, appeared vocally in the Tate Modern every
day for about 3 years as part of a piece by Paisley artist Simon
Patterson, had a
book published in Italian, Korean... (and English) and currently
purveys twisted pop radio programmes to listeners in Latvia and
New Zealand from a cellar in Pollokshields.
